Healing childhood, child's voice writes, writer's child voice

Mother's suicide when Laura was 2, having two older sisters taken from her and then returned, father also taken away and returned, and father's remarriage to a woman he tells Laura is her "mommy" creates a world of chaos and confusion around her. Yet the child's point of view, told with unerring directness and the force of honesty reveals to the reader how Laura made it through. Laura talks about how she wrote Reversible Skirt.  Listen in as Laura talks about her childhood and writing Reversible Skirt.
